ROMANY GYPSY TRAILERS

ECCLES

Eccles had been producing trailers

for travelling people almost from

the start. This page shows the ever

popular Eccles 'Traveller'. The later versions of this van are known as

'threepenny bit' Eccles due to the

revised shaped bay windows at front and back.

The new 1958 model with a revised roof design, more curved at each end to improve the appearance of the bay windows (an earlier version behind).

These trailers were 19' 1" body length or 20'2" including the bays x 7'5" wide.

  cost new in 1958.................. £930

above a 1957 trailer, the first bay window introduced.

the later version with splayed bays,

the 'threepenny bit' Eccles. This attractive

feature was 'copied' on Sambrooks 'Viceroy'

as seen left.............anybody got a pic of one?
